Thomas More Society

The Thomas More Society is a not-for-profit, national public interest law firm dedicated to restoring respect in law for life, family, and religious liberty. Based in Chicago, the Thomas More Society defends and fosters support for these causes by providing high quality pro bono legal services from local trial courts all the way to the United States Supreme Court.
Thomas More Society recent cases include:
• Defending the Missionary Sisters of St. Charles against a strip club that illegally moved in right behind their convent, causing harm and disruption. ()

• Protecting the religious liberty rights of business owners against the HHS Abortion Pill Mandate. ()
• Urging the U.S. Supreme Court to resolve the dispute over Choose Life license plates. ()
• Helping defend the Iowa Board of Medicine's prohibition of webcam abortions by submitting an ''amicus'' brief to the Court and substantial legal research to the Iowa Attorney General. ()

• Representing Missouri pro-life sidewalk counselor against bogus criminal trespass charges by Planned Parenthood, which the Judge dismissed at trial. ()
• Defending pro-lifers against NOW and abortion plaintiffs' claims that the pro-lifers were leaders of a vast nationwide conspiracy bent on ‘extortion’ and ‘racketeering.’ After nearly 28 years of litigating and three trips to the U.S. Supreme Court, including two victories in 2003 (8-1) and 2006 (8-0), Thomas More Society ensured that pro-lifers’ First Amendment rights to free speech and association were secure and protected by law. ()
Tom Brejcha, Thomas More Society president and chief counsel, said: "Banding together with fellow citizens to advocate for the sanctity of each and every human life – born and unborn, wanted or allegedly ‘unwanted’ – are precious rights of all American citizens.”
